This unit at WHAMPOA DEW 2 is a resale HDB apartment with an estimated floor area of 1022 sqft. It features a Contemporary Industrial style. Nonetheless, this unit was the magnum opus of the creatively gifted Singaporean design team company, Juz Interior Pte Ltd. Ever since they first made their foray in the local ID market here, they have managed to successfully put on their ID renovation Midas touch on houses of all statures and sizes across the interior of Singaporean homes. The unit has a Contemporary Industrial interior design style that is a style influenced by old factories and industrial areas, perhaps out of a need to transform old or used buildings into modern urban living. This design takes into consideration by dwelling into raw architecture, rustic surfaces, raw ingredients, exposed bricks, and much more..etc. For starters, there is the utility-looking galley kitchen in the kitchen spaces. Naturally, the galley kitchen uses a massive amount of natural wood that is put into use in its kitchen cabinetry. Even though wood is modern and edgy, it has a raw and worn-out look since wood originally comes from natural elements such as the forests. With its mix of modernity and rawness, natural wood is perfect for the design theme of this house. Aside from wood, the window frames in the kitchen windows are a product of stainless-steel.


After speaking to a few designers, we chose Juz Interior over the others because we think they are the "one". Previously, we have heard many good things about the company from close friends and families. For example, most of them concluded that the designers in the company are world-class designers with an eye for design. But we only got to know of all this until we underwent the positive experience ourselves about two months ago when we enlisted in Juz Interior service. The designers are professional but responsible. At the same time, they will check with you whether you have any additional needs and wants. For example, we have witnessed firsthand how the designer and his team worked day and night tirelessly to deliver a stunning transformation of our dream unit. Not only that, but they also have good communication skills. We like how they communicated with the contractors despite language barrier.

Here are our opinions on the renovation and design:

1. Kitchen | Samsung

The kitchen has a galley-shaped kitchen cabinet layout. The galley-shaped kitchen layout is excellent for an organized working space since it has two parallel corners for easy access. Nevertheless, this galley-shaped kitchen layout has a Speedy Decor solid-wood kitchen cabinet with a rustic wood design. At the same time, the kitchen cabinetry is unique because the kitchen backsplash has a fuzzy wood design. On top of that, the kitchen cabinet is also built-in with the latest electrical kitchen utilities, like a Samsung Top Mount Freezer with Twin Cooling Plus, 450L. It helps the user with keeping daily perishable foods fresh.

2. Living Room | LG

The living room has a large LG Black Screen TV mounted on a Speedy Decor wooden paneling tv feature wall. Moreover, this tv feature wall helps to make the entire living space attractive and is fast to install than other types of material. Nevertheless, the UrbanMood rustic wood tv console has storage and space-saving functions to help free up more space. Adjacent to the tv is a HipVan Baleno armchair in Expresso faux leather. Moreover, the armchair is well-built and comfy. On the other hand, the HipVan Haiku H Ceiling Fan Universal Mount in Cocoa Black Bamboo helps with ventilation.

3. Dining Area

The dining area has a duo of HipVan modern pendant lamps. Naturally, this pendant lamp is minimalistic with a splash of light-grey aesthetic design. At the same time, it helps to create a touch of illumination for the living spaces. But the HipVan Waylon Dining Table 1.8m in matt black and suar wood is warm and welcoming-looking to help bring a homely feeling to the living spaces. Moreover, it has a more modern and edgier vibe than a plastic dining table. On the other hand, the Hong Lee white marble flooring is smooth to the touch but can withstand heavy traffic.

Overall, we can conclude and wrap it up by saying that the unit is designed for a quintessentially Contemporary Industrial style. For example, this unit is space-enhanced despite being initially a compact-sized unit. This factor can be seen clearly in its limited spaces that are heavily decluttered and maximized to full effect. But what makes this unit a cut above the rest? Naturally, it is the high-end decors and furnishings in the living spaces. One of the most notable examples would be the rustic wooden tv feature wall in the living room area. Likewise, the tv feature wall evokes a fuzzy and homely touch since it is a product of wood paneling sourced carefully from eco-friendly forests and trees.

Finally, the theme across the house fits perfectly with everything surrounding it. For example, you find a lot of sleek and streamlined designs. In addition, the colors are minimalistic and natural.
