Modern Contemporary at Jurong West Central

designed by Honeycomb Design Studio

This unit at Jurong West Central is a resale HDB apartment with an estimated floor area of 1065 sqft. It features a Modern Contemporary style. If you are among those who prefer a style that uses modern meets contemporary, then perhaps you can take a look at this unique Modern Contemporary unit with a slight edge in cosmopolitan Singapore. This unit was the creative epiphany of the creatively gifted Singaporean design team company, Honeycomb Design Studio Pte. Ltd. Ever since they first came to the local ID market, they have conjured their ID renovation magic wand on houses of all statures and sizes across Singapore that will help you redefine the meaning of ID style. In line with its Modern Contemporary theme, this unit incorporates an ample amount of classic wood materials. For those who are in the dark, wood has been used since the dawn of mankind to create homes and objects that live inside them- from conventional wooden floors to building long-lasting furniture. Here are some of the reasons why wood is visible here. For example, wood is generously slathered all over the gorgeous built-in kitchen cabinetry since it has an exquisite look, which is unmatchable with other subpar non-natural materials. In addition, wood is an alternative over other materials, thanks to its strong durability that is suitable as a piece of treasured heirloom.

We would like to recommend the designer and his team for they did a better job compared to the previous contractor who fared badly and also delayed the completion timeline. Previously, we have rejected many ID firms as they do not have the same consensus of mind when it comes to meeting our payment terms. To make matters worse, some unscrupulous ID firms from outside also requested that we make a large deposit payment before any real work is done. With that, HoneyComb comes to the rescue by allowing us to pay by 5 different milestones. Therefore, this shows that they have confidence in their clients and also their work performance. For example, the designer was very dedicated and considerate throughout the entire renovation process - right from the start to the end. The designer, who is also the leader of the team, was there to supervise the workers so that they complete their deadline.

1. Kitchen | Speedy Decor

The dining area uses an open-space kitchen concept since the dining table is next to the kitchen. Moreover, there are limited barriers in the surroundings of the living spaces. Therefore, this means the user can move to both areas seamlessly, albeit without any walls or dividers. The Speedy Decor dining table has a gorgeous countertop made from black Nero Marquina marble, while the two matching dining chairs are color-coordinated. Adjacent to the dining table is a Speedy Decor customized built-in cabinet. It is essential to help the user to store their things and keep them tidy. The plants provide a touch of nature.

2. Toilet

The bathroom is akin to a perfect spa utopia. Despite the dark neutral color surroundings, the bathroom is still attractive enough for a day of tranquil oasis relaxation, especially after a hard day's work. For example, the user can unwind and lather in their favorite aromatherapy shower gel. Moreover, they can also look at the GamaResources transparent glass wall panes that cover the bathing cubicle. The showering experience becomes even more pleasurable when the user turns on the water of the Ruhens shower head to full blast so they can get the perfect rainfall shower that tops any renowned spa outlet.

3. Bedroom

The bedroom is large and invitingly spacious. There are several unique objects, like a large MegaFurniture queen-sized bed that can support up to two people sleeping comfortably and a beloved furbaby or two for those who love to cuddle with their pets when they sleep. On the other hand, there are two MyLighthouse modern pendant bedside lights at the right and left side of the bed to help give the room a dim environment - a romantic atmosphere where they can read a book or two before they hit the sack at night. Moreover, the bedstand walls match the vinyl flooring.

4. Living Room | LG

This living room is a perfect mix of toned-down but still attractive colors. Here, a couple of sofa seaters are visible. They look ergonomic and cozy due to their cottony-soft cushion seats. Nonetheless, the IKEA coffee table in the middle is perfect for those who sit on the sofa to have a cup or two of hot piping frappuccino. Adjacent to the sofa seater is an LG Black Screen TV of the most cutting-edge kind. The user and others can sit comfortably on the sofa seater and watch hours of Netflix on TV. Above the ceiling, there are some IKEA recessed spotlights to provide illumination.

Final words

Overall, we can conclude and wrap it up by saying that the unit is designed for a quintessentially Modern Contemporary style. For example, this unit is space-enhanced despite being initially a compact-sized unit. This factor can be seen clearly in its limited spaces that are cleverly-decluttered and maximized to full effects. First, the designer maximized the floor space by mounting the LG Black Screen TV on the feature wall. Nonetheless, mounting helps to save space instead of creating a whole new entertainment room in another section. Other than that, the designer also incorporated an open-space kitchen concept instead of creating two different rooms. Therefore, everything is udner one roof where the user and others can cook and eat in the same section.

Finally, the theme across the house fits perfectly with everything surrounding it. The colours used are minimalistic and neutral but with an edge that makes your interior a cut above the rest!
