This unit at Bedok Beacons is a resale HDB apartment with an estimated floor area of 1000 sqft. It features a Modern Scandavanian style. Exuding a classy white purity that feels like you are surrounded by the light of goodness, this compact-sized HDB unit at Bedok Beacons is nicely spread for maximum space. Completed in August 2021 last year, the swanky apartment emulates a Modern Contemporary style, a popular design theme that is hot on the heels among young Singaporean urbanites. If you look closely at its design theme, you can also see a Modern Scandavanian style, distinctively revealed in its wood-based accents placed in certain corners of the room. For instance, you see wooden textures utilized on the surrounding furniture, from the study desk in the bedroom to the wooden-based flooring. In fact, even the master bedroom has the same wooden flooring to coordinate well with the other smaller bedroom.

The kitchen is the stand-out unit here. For instance, the classic-looking built-in fridge is within arm's reach for those convenience late-night hunger pangs or when you want to store/take out your fresh groceries to cook for your beloved family. Strategically placed to one another is also the oven for those lovely baking sessions, followed closely by the stove to cook up a storm. So, bring out your inner domestic goddess, ala Martha Stewart, right now!

I would highly recommend this designer who is looking for a zen-minimalistic style, albeit with a rustic touch of a Modern Scandavanian vibe. The zen-minimalistic design is in many parts of the five featured rooms, from the living room, master bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom to the single bedroom. White is a dominant color in the zen-minimalistic look. Thus, the designer has successfully applied this color scheme without portraying itself as dull and generic-looking. When combined with the bright white spotlights from above, the entire house becomes a spark of sunshine, exuding a natural brightness that gives the user a soothing and pleasant feel. We recommend this designer to those who want a chic contemporary upgrade to their house instead of the standard Singaporean-style design. Finally, we also recommend this designer to renovation enthusiasts who dig something aesthetically-pleasing but do not want too spend too much money on the cost of the interior.

1. Toilet

If Bryan Adam's classic 1983 hit song Heaven reminds you of this particular bathroom, give us a high-five! Because the first thing you will notice primarily is the white purity of the entire bathroom. After all, white is related to the color of heaven - hence the Bryan Adams song. Everything from the walls, ceiling, toilet seat, basin for hand washing, spotlight fixture, and even the thick bathroom towels are white. Except for the light grey colored bathroom floor, of course! Other objects not white in color are also the Hoe Kee Rubine Rsc-Thermo-S41BK Square thermostatic control- Matt Black black-colored rainfall showerhead for those blissful and relaxing moments in the shower.

2. Bedroom

Unlike the master bedroom, this unit mentioned here is the standard and cookie-cutter type of bedroom. As you can see, a single bed is situated against the walls, right next to the windows. The color spectrum used in this room consists of light, earthy and dark colors. For instance, the ceiling above and the walls leading to the bedroom door are white, the walls leaning next to the single bed are in Nippon granite rock grey, the entire flooring is in earthy wood-based colors, and the study desk is hybrid in colors ala half-wood and half dark tone colors. Even the study chair is neutral in color to match the study table.

3. Living Room | Nippon

The living room is simple and minimal at its best, devoid of tacky embellishments or decor. Light and neutral colors are the primary attention here, most obviously captured in the Nippon pristine white ceiling above, surrounding walls, and tile flooring. Even the Ikea Lakene LED recessed spotlights fixture is in opal white. The surrounding furniture and decor are aesthetically-pleasing but in a minimalist way! Since both form and functionality actually amalgamate with aesthetic beauty. For instance, the two-tone monochromatic sofa set is comfortable enough to sit on or have a relaxing siesta later. Either way, you could pour yourself a cuppa from the IKEA oval-shaped coffee table.

4. Large Bedroom

The Bedroom is practically surrounded and outshone by the starkness and purity of its white color. For instance, the ceiling above is Nippon pristine white. Even the walls spread across the room are the same white. Before we forget, the Ikea Lakene LED white recessed spotlights in opal white fixtures are also white to color-coordinate with its other contemporaries. The chic and modern-looking Ikea Vevelstad bed frame is comfy enough as a start. It looks so invitingly cozy that you could sleep like a baby once you hit the sack. The colors of the bedsheets are in a two-tone monochromatic look but more in line with the year 2022.

5. Kitchen | LG

The kitchen is space-maximized effectively and very cleverly so that everything is close to one another. For instance, you don't see the kitchen appliances like the LG stainless steel series fridge, oven, stove, and exhaust hood placed randomly and in a different order, ala here and there. In a single glance, you can already see that the electrical appliances are all situated under one roof, thanks to its amazingly-special large Ikea built-in kitchen cabinet, meant for this sole purpose. Aesthetically speaking, every kitchen appliance is made minimally simple, but they look sleek, highly polished, and state-of-the-art enough for daily domestic use at any time.

Final words

Overall, we give a big shoutout to the designer who designed this apartment unit. The design of the entire apartment is very consistent and the colors used are pleasant and aesthetic enough without being too loud or garishly obvious, in line with the minimalist theme. For instance, white color is primarily used in all five main rooms - covering the living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Since the theme is Modern Scandavanian, earth-bound materials such as natural light wood are utilized heavily on the bedroom flooring, cabinets, and study table. Only in specific parts of the furniture do you see darker hues that help add a touch of chic-classy elegance to it. Modern families will like this design as it is not only minimal but rely on practicality as well. In short, this means that the style is easy to maintain and upkeep - hence the form and functionality inserted due to the designer's creativity.
