This unit at 413 SERANGOON CENTRAL is a resale HDB apartment with an estimated floor area of 1027 sqft. It features a Modern Rustic Scandinavian style. Nonetheless, this unit was the magnum opus of the creatively gifted Singaporean design team company, Juz Interior Pte Ltd. Ever since they first made their foray in the local ID market here, they have managed to successfully put on their ID renovation Midas touch on houses of all statures and sizes across the interior of Singaporean homes. The unit has a Modern Rustic Scandinavian design style defined by the massive usage of natural wood. Wood is used and crafted into furniture, wooden floor tiles, wooden carpentry at the ceiling, wooden design, wooden display decors, and more. Over here, wood is used massively in the living room and also kitchen area. One of the most notable examples of wood utilization would be the gorgeous but rustic-looking wood dining table. For starters, this dining table is no cookie-cutter-designed furniture since it is similar to a raw plank of unpolished wood that is stripped-back and earthy. At the same time, the rustic appeal of this dining table is reminiscent to those old-time MGM western classics where all the prop furnishings are either in solid oak wood or walnut. Likewise, a rugged-looking cowboy would dine at one of those table before taking off for good.


For starters, we are first-time homeowners who want the best quality and design for our unit's renovation since we have high expectations even though we do not know anything much about interior design. Due to that, we interviewed several ID companies and talked to them to see whether they make the final cut. However, after narrowing down the other choices, we chose Juz Interior over the rest. Naturally, Juz Interior did not disappoint us from the start to the end of the renovation journey. From the beginning, the company gave us a good impression of them since the chosen designers are friendly and responsible. For example, they did their homework and explained to us clearly our needs and wants for the renovation. Even better, they came along with a winning design proposal that surpassed our initial expectations. Overall, we would like to say thank-you from the bottom of our hearts!

1. Living Room | LG

The living room has a large LG Smart TV mounted on a DirectCarpentry white wooden plank tv feature wall. Naturally, the stark whiteness of this tv feature wall helps to aesthetically distract the user from the darkness of the black TV. Nevertheless, this tv feature wall is also multifunctional and cost-saving since it also doubles up as an open-shelving cabinet for the storage and space-saving of the display decors. At the same time, the ExpressWindows aluminum swing windows in glass are perfect for bringing in maximum natural sunlight and ventilation. The HipVan two-seater sofa in brown leather material is cozy.

2. Dining Area

The dining area has a pair of IKEA black recessed spotlights. Naturally, this pendant lamp is a mix of simplicity and functionality to help free off spaces. At the same time, it helps to create a powerful illumination for the living spaces. But the UrbanMood Baywater Solid Suar Wood Dining Table is rustic-looking and long-lasting to last through passing time. Moreover, it is perfect for a small modern family to dine with style and relaxation. On the other hand, the mounted Comodecor art piece looks peculiar but fun-looking to add a dash of personality to the natural ambiance of the room.

3. Kitchen | Borsch

The kitchen has a straight-shaped kitchen cabinet layout. The straight-shaped kitchen layout is excellent for an organized working space since it is in sequential order. Nevertheless, this straight-shaped kitchen layout has a Speedy Decor solid-wood kitchen cabinet with a stripped-back look and design. At the same time, the kitchen backsplash is a stark contrast because it has a Wallhub smooth pitch-black marble laminate finish. On top of that, the kitchen cabinet is also built-in with the latest electrical kitchen utilities, like a Borsch Serie 4 Wall-mounted hood 90cm stainless steel hood. It helps to give the user a breath of fresh air.

Overall, we can conclude and wrap it up by saying that the unit is designed for a quintessentially Modern Rustic Scandinavian style. For example, this unit is space-enhanced despite being initially a compact-sized unit. This factor can be seen clearly in its limited spaces that are heavily decluttered and maximized to full effect. But what makes this unit a cut above the rest? Naturally, it is the high-end decors and furnishings in the living spaces. One of the most notable examples would be the tv feature wall in the living room.
