This unit at 35 Toa Payoh Lor 5 is a resale HDB apartment with an estimated floor area of 1200 sqft. It features a Modern Scandavanian style. Completed in March 2021, the compact-sized stylish HDB unit famously known as 35 Toa Payoh Lor 5 in Singapore cleverly and aptly emulates the Modern Scandavanian style that is highly in vogue with many Singaporean buyers and also others across the world today. With this, the Modern Scandavanian style is also a top choice for many world-famous A-lister celebrities like singer Elton John, Hollywood blonde bombshell actress Cameron Diaz and many more. But fret not, as you do not have to pay top dollar like a fabulously wealthy celebrity to renovate your home into this super hot style. Budget-wise, the designer here does not charges according to their whim and fancies. Everything is charged accordingly. We are not sure what you have in mind, but for us, it is worth every pretty Singapore dollar.

Here in this house, you find spaces maximized to full effect. From the living room, entryway, kitchen, and bathroom since the designer is renovating a small HDB apartment after all. For instance, you can see that all the appliances in the bathroom are placed and arranged side-by-side. Due to that, everything is within arm's reach, such as the see-through glass panel shower room, faucet corner, sit-on flush toilet, and natural marble cabinets to put the user's favorite toiletries.

We would recommend this designer to house owners who want to acquire the Modern Scandavanian look in the Republic of Singapore. That is because this particular designer is the real deal. The designer and their team will give you the design you want, replicating and mimicking the most stylish design theme found only in glossy interior design magazines. At the same time, the designer is also someone that goes beyond the extra mile in doing things. For instance, you can see the fine craftsmanship of each design in contrast to the coarse, subpar and cheap designs that are aplenty in Singapore. A good leading example would be the wood and marble embellishments. The word "excellent" would not do them justice. Kudos or hats off to the designer and his amazing team for doing a job that stretches beyond the extra mile. At this rate, the designer should be winning awards for his outstanding work!

1. Living Room | Panasonic

The living room is designed with a Nippon pristine white painted wall. The purity of the pristine white color stretches from every nook and four corners of the living room walls. However, the white plaster ceiling above contrasts with the dual toned Panasonic Bayu5 5 Blades Ceiling Fan. Space-wise, there is not many clutter or unnecessary objects placed in the living room. Because of that, the spaces in the walkway are elongated. They are maximized to the very core so that people in the house can walk around freely without fear of knocking into things. Besides that, the design is practical and easy-to-use, or upkeep from time to time.

2. Dining Area

The dining table is seated conveniently next to the living room. Perhaps after a fun-filled day of watching the latest blockbusters on tv in the living room, the user can head straight to the Ikea Vangasta tempered glass table and six chair dining set to satiate their hunger. Picture having mini potlucks and social gatherings at the dining table area while you stare in amazement at the delicious home-cooked food served on it. The dining table and chairs stand out due to their rustic vibe. On the other hand, the walls next to the sofa set could do with an art decor or two.

3. Living Room | Nippon

This is still the living room but seen from a different angle and perspective. From here, its main highlight is the entryway. For instance, the designer space maximized this particular area to give it an elongated and sharp illusion. There are a few striking decor and objects here and there, like the wood-based acoustic guitar on the left side. But on the right side, there lies an eclectic-looking ornament and a bonsai tree placed accordingly on the wooden racks. The Nippon pristine white walls and Eightdots white plastered ceiling above is in white to suit the modern-minimal look. This room is unique due to its elongated hallway but it can be improved with less clutter on the left.

4. Kitchen | LG

The kitchen has a simple and minimalistic design, typical of most standard-cookie-cutter types found across most households in Singapore today. But again, you can see there is ample space in the kitchen due to the clever space-maximizing technique by the designer. For instance, you can see that the walkway is elongated and stretches from the beginning point to the end of the kitchen. Besides that, the furniture and various kitchen appliances are in proper-order "aka" systematically arranged. A good example is the LG black built-in freezer Refrigerator. The large LG Multi Door Refrigerator larger fridge is well-coordinated beside the mini ice chiller for the user's own practicality.

5. Toilet

A typical compact bathroom that is space maximized to its fullest advantage. Here, you don't see a whole load of clutter or random things placed at their whims and fancy. For instance, all the bathroom-related appliances like the shower room, vanity table, and seat-on toilet are so close to each other, within an arm's reach. The surrounding walls and the ceiling above are purely made out of Lian Seng Hin's Calacatta White 33 natural marble stone. Thus, this gives the entire bathroom a super polished and elegant look despite its lacking of space. The Ikea white recessed lights fixture on top of the ceiling when shone on the glossy marble, further highlights the natural beauty of the marble stone.

Final words

Overall, we give two thumbs up to this designer for their superb design and craftsmanship. For instance, everything is picture-perfect and made-to-order so that the outcome of your renovation is akin to a cut-out from a leading interior design magazine. The designer has the Midas touch when it comes to maximizing space, especially for compact-sized HDB apartments such as this. Every nook and corner in the house is given special consideration before deciding when the space-maximizing magic takes full effect. Even the furniture and carpentry are space maximized for the user to walk freely in their apartment without any hinges.

Finally, the theme across the house fits perfectly with the apartment's limited size. The colours used are minimalistic and soothing to the view. However, the designer put a slight edge to make the design different from the generic rest. Due to that, this apartment is the perfect lifestyle game changer!
